Basic Setup and Usage
If you are an advanced user, then this section might be enough
documentation for you. Each section further describes a different
aspect of the SniperSpy setup and usage process.
After ordering SniperSpy you will instantly receive an email
containing your registration code and a link to download the module
creator. You will first need to create your username and password
by registering.
After you register you will be able to utilize the module
creator program to setup your module.
Run the module creator link from the order email and follow the
screens. After the module is created you will deploy the software
either remotely or locally. After the software is deployed you
will login to your control panel to view results. Click a link
in the outline below to learn more about that phase of the process.
|
FIVE BASIC STEPS
TO SETUP AND USAGE OF SNIPERSPY
|
|
1. Purchase
to receive your registration code and module creator program.
2. Register Account to make your customized username and password.
3. Create Module using the username/password you made in step two.
4. Deploy Module by attaching it to an email to your remote computer.
5. View Activity by waiting until module is executed and then logging in.
|
Now that you know a little more about how the process works, let's begin by registering your account as
described below.
Registering
Your Account
After you order you will instantly receive an email containing two things: Your registration code and a
link to download the module creator program. You can't create your
module until you have your username and password. For this you
will need to register your account.
By registering your account you will create
your username and password. To register, go to the Create
Account page which is shown below. After you have reached the
Create Account page, input data into the following fields.
 |
Username/Password
Enter a username / password you wish to use. Up to 60
characters each.
Registration Number
Copy and Paste the registration number from your order
email.
Name/Email Address
Enter your name / email address in case we need to
email you updates.
After you have completed all
fields, click SUBMIT to create your account. You can
then use the module creator to create your module.
|
Creating
Your Module
Now that you have setup your username and password, you can create your module. This module will be later
sent to the remote PC as an email attachment. But first you needto create it.
To get started, go to your order email and there will be a link to download the module creator program. Click
the link and install this small program. Once you are inside the
module creator your screen will look something like the screen
shown in the outline below.
The module creator consists of five screens which you can navigate by clicking BACK or NEXT on the program
itself. Follow the five screens (steps) as outlined below. The
program also includes instructions on each step.
 |
Step One: Validate Account Enter the username and password you created during registration.
Step Two: Logging Settings Choose the activities you wish to monitor by checking each one.
Step Three: Alert Options Choose whether or not to alert the user that SniperSpy is running.
Step Four: Create Module Click browse and choose a location and name to save your module.
Step Five: Setup Complete The module is ready to be deployed. Don't execute it!
|
Remember where you saved the module and don't run the module on your local computer. If you execute
the module on your local machine then it will record the activity of that PC. You would then need to uninstall SniperSpy through the
control panel before deploying.
When you are ready to deploy then proceed to the next section for deployment methods.
Deploying Your Module
Now that you have created your module you will need to install (deploy) it onto your
remote computer. The information in this section will assist you in deploying to your remote PC. For help on installing onto your
local PC (rather than remote) then please see this section.
The most common method of deployment is by emailing the attachment to your remote computer. In this example
we use the Outlook Express program to send the email.
Step
One: Create a New Email
Open your email program. Click the create mail button from within the program. Then choose your email From and To
addresses. The To: address would be an address on your remote PC.
Step Two: Enter Email Contents
Type a subject and regular email text as you see fit. Remember that to stay within our licensing agreement you
will not monitor adults using your remote PC without notifying them that they are being monitored.
Step Three: Insert Attachment Click "Attach" and navigate to and select the
module file you created. It will be saved in the location you chose when you created your module. The
module file can be named whateveryouwish.exe
Step Four: Click Send After you have filled in the appropriate files, entered
a subject and email contents and have inserted the module attachment, click the Send button to send the
email to the remote computer. Step Five: Wait for Installation
After you have sent the email then you will need to wait until the remote user runs the program. After they have
executed the module then it will silently install and start uploading results so you can view
activity.
|
More on Deployment via Email
Some email clients block .exe attachments. But that's not a problem
because you can simply place your exe module inside of a Zip file,
Word file or Wordpad document. You would then attach the Zip or
Word/Wordpad file containing
the module instead of the module itself. The user will then get
the attachment and the deployment process can begin. Please note
that it is your responsibility to get the user to execute the
attachment on your remote PC. We do not honor refunds due to refusal
to run the module.
Local Deployment (Optional)
If you need to install to your local (current) computer instead
of your remote computer, then the process simple. Simply open
My Computer and navigate to the folder in which you saved your
module. Double-click the module filename to execute it. Nothing
will appear on the screen as the software is installed. The user
notification will come up at reboot if you chose that option when
creating your module.
Viewing
Activity
After deployment you should wait some time until the remote user
reads their email and runs the module. This can be minutes or
hours. Once they run the module their activity will start showing
in your account within fifteen minutes. You can log into your
account anytime to check for results. If no results are showing
then the module hasn't been executed yet.
Logging Into Your Account
When you are ready to login to your account to check, enter your
username and password into the fields below and click LOGIN. This
login box can also be found on the main and login pages of our
site at www.sniper-spy.com.
Be sure to enter your username and password EXACTLY as you
did upon account creation. Your username and password are case-sensitive.
Please Note: If you experience a slight delay when logging in, then let the page keep loading.
Logs are fetched from the server at each login. If your login isn't instant then its because the server is fetching records.
If you have an unusually large amount of records you might need to refresh the page to gain access.
Inside Your Account
Once you are inside your account, your screen should look something
like the one below. Inside your account there are three groups
of commands on the left side. Each group contains a specific set
of commands. These groups are outlined below.
 |
Log Viewer This is where you view all activities with the exception of chats.
Recorded Chats This is where you select which chat program log you want to view.
Tools/Utilities Various log utilities, password change, system info and uninstall.
The menu at the top of the online control panel also contains links to some of
the most commonly used commands.
|
Log Viewers Each type of recording is saved into a separate log section for
your convenience. All log viewer pages work the same. You can
sort results by any column by pressing the sort arrow icon. You
can clear all logs within each category by clicking the Clear
Logs button. You can also select to show only a specific user's
results if there are multiple users on your remote PC.
You can do a global search of logs
in your account for any keyword you wish. Simply click the
Search Logs link in the Tools section of the menu. Then enter
your query. Results will be displayed for any matches found in
ANY log type!
Deleting Logs
The log files within each logging category can be deleted by
clicking the Clear Logs button on a log page. Additionally you
can choose to clear ALL logs by clicking the appropriate link in
the Tools / Utilities section of the left menu. Only erase logs
if you are sure you want them erased. They cannot be recovered.
System Information
SniperSpy saves the latest system information from your remote
computer. To access this powerful feature click the Sys-Info
button at the top of your online control panel. You will be
shown the most recent system statistics and info about the
remote PC.
Change Password
Changing your password is very easy and can be done at any time.
It will not interfere with the operation of SniperSpy on the
remote PC. To change your password, go to your online control
panel and click the Change Password link in the Tools section at
left. Insert the appropriate fields and click submit. Your
password will then be changed.
Saving Logs
Offline Saving logs for offline use is as easy as going to File > Save
As and naming the file. You will then be able to access that
page at any time in the future by looking at the file using My
Computer. The file can also be printed for a hard copy of
evidence.
Removing SniperSpy
When you want to remove SniperSpy from your remote PC, login to
your online control panel. Then click the Uninstall SniperSpy
link in the Tools section. Then click YES to confirm. The
software will then remove itself the next time it makes a
connection
